New victory report, King FUSO won 2021 sales champion of commercial vehicles 3.5 tons and above segment, setting a myth record of consecutive 30 years in CV industry!
Commercial vehicle leader FUSO's distributor, Daimler Trucks Asia Taiwan (DTAT) announced today that it once again won 2021 commercial vehicle sales champion 3.5 tons and aboive segments (inclusive), setting a myth record of 30 consecutive champions in the commercial vehicle industry! Even though there is the impact of the epidemic in the past two years, the total number of FUSO registered units in 2021 reached 9,407, a significant increase of 28.8% compared to 7,301 units last year (2020). FUSO successfully created new sales records. Reasons behind FUSO’s success are that FUSO has rooted in Taiwan for more than 60 years with a vast and loyal customer base, coupled with a full- range and durable and reliable product portfolio, and YYM’s service network is the most extensive to all corners of Taiwan with dedicated and enthusiasm attitudes, which created the formula of winning the championship for 30 years. In reviewing back on the total market demands of 3.5 tons segment (inclusive) and above in 2021. With the epidemic continues to hit Taiwan, many industries have got bogged down in this disaster. However, the transportation and logistics industry has benefited from the continued growth of the B2C business against the negative economy development trend. Total market demands turns out in 2021, benefited under the trend of economy and the pre-purchase before the implementation of the Euro 6 Emission Regulations and government’s replacement subsidy policy, that registered CV are up to 28,408 units, an increase of 23.5% comparing with 22,997 units in 2020, the highest record in the past 20 years! Even though Taiwanese market is small, almost all major brands in the world have been introduced to Taiwan for years, making Taiwan a tense competition among the brands. In a highly competitive environment, FUSO has been able to stand firm as a leader for 30 years more than a myth.
Reviewing the performance of each commercial vehicle segment of 2021, sLDT and LDT have been prosperous all the way due to the B2C economy increase shapely, and the tonnage of 3.5 tons upgraded to 5 ton authorized by the new policy in September of 2020 so that owners are carefree of overloading fines. Therefore, 3.5 to 5 tons segments maintained a high growth rate of 34% compared with last year. Therein hot-selling FUSO Canter was registered with high record in 5,851 units, 45% increase compared with last year (2020), becoming the foundation of FUSO’s leading position in commercial vehicle market in 2021. Moving to the HDT segment, tractors continue to be hot-selling vehicle type driven by containers transportation demand increase even though the shipment containers shortage and ports congestion, and the demand of dumping sands and mixer trucks driven by soaring construction industry and the trend of replacement with government’s subsidy, the total demand of HDT has growth in 2021. FUSO registration reached 1,592 units in 2021, an increase of 20% from the last year (2020), it shows again that Super Great is the king of HDT in the industry based on the sales volume.
2021 is the fifth year of DTAT's establishment. After steering FUSO since 2017, DTAT gets starting with the motto “Growing with you; Success in Taiwan". Indeed, FUSO's success was seen by the public, including the launch of FUSO HERO campaigns and CSR activities, and promoted the new generation of service workshops with YYM, overwhelmingly creating a new vision for the commercial vehicle industry in Taiwan.
